Flumioxazin will be the Herbicide used on Granite Lake to Eradicate CLP

Flumioxazin is a contact herbicide approved for aquatic use in controlling certain submersed, emergent, and floating weeds

Post-treatment water use restrictions — These vary slightly by specific product formulation and state/local rules, but federal labels (e.g., for many flumioxazin aquatic products) generally state:

  • Swimming and recreational use — No restrictions (treated water may be used immediately for swimming, boating, etc.).

  • Fishing and fish consumption — No restrictions (no waiting period for eating fish caught from treated waters).

  • Livestock/pet/animal drinking — No restrictions (treated water may be used for animal consumption).

  • Drinking/potable water — No restrictions on federal labels for human drinking (though some states may add precautions).

  • Irrigation — Key restriction: Treated water may not be used for irrigating food crops until at least 5 days after application. For turf, landscape ornamentals, or non-food uses, restrictions range from none (in deeper water >3 ft) to 12 hours–3 days depending on application method (surface vs. subsurface), rate, and water depth (consult the specific product's irrigation table). Some labels allow quicker use for turf (e.g., 12 hours in shallow water).
